Charlie Anderson This is another deservedly beloved metal record from the streets of New York. The slightly more melodic moments, as compared with some of Anicon's contemporaries, lend this album a rare, memorable poignancy that makes it an unforgettable listening experience. Favorite track: Names Written In Tar.

mark salt This is a brooding, bruising maelstrom of an album. Lean , powerful and infinitely inventive each play of this rewards the listener with a greater depth inwards towards the centre of something very special indeed. Razor sharp riffs twist and spin like shrapnel whilst emotive vocals barked, sang, and shouted blast through the songs. Dense and balanced the weave of this record is perfect, it ideas are realised beautifully and executed with precision and skill. This is hands down the finest metal album I’ve heard in years. Buy it. Let it steamroller over you and press play again. Absolute magic of the darkest kind. Favorite track: Feeding Hand.

Jason Griffith I'm personal friends with the mighty Owen Rundquist(guitfiddle, vocals), and these guys are so fucking talented. Every release is better than the one prior, and every release is insanely good. The writing of music and genuine originality of it never ceases to impress. Their artwork and creativity are boundless, and they continue to push those 'boundaries' with every song it seems. Wish I could meet you all...maybe someday my band will make it over your way...and or yours this way and we could set a gig up. Enough ass kissing here...just wanted to let you guys know I love what you're doing and I hope you keep doing it...I'm waiting on 'Entropy Mantra' to come in the mail but I have it here and wow! Cheers Owen and to the rest of you I dont know yet. Keep killing it!

Feeding Hand 05:52
I am the one who sculpts the earth of your world For your appetites I provide a feast over time with time I know your needs, your lust, and your want of me Show me how you value me I am the one with whom you barter for your blood Mine all mine: I will poison you where you dine Gorge yourself on venom Gouge your eyes and crawl Bewildered, blind and moving on Until your vision is gone and you beg from me Truly you cannot see yourself You cannot see what is nor what might be You proceed without the comprehension: “You may be happy but I have more” Remember this pact and what part you act Gloat in avarice and choke on stool
2.
Time has its way of teaching all Expand and recede and carry on Moving through life Only to forget and let go All things gone, all lost With one’s face to the wind Giving pieces away What does one become — Every time in this way as we erode? Presence I crave I slowly dissolve Unreplenished and erased Here what could grow? I draw back Autonomy is exile The fruit withers on the vine Lose hope Lose virtue Just lose Hold tight to memories Lose love Lose warmth Once apparent: now fade Lose
3.
Caressing the mirage In an infinite dream My form is false And envelops me And stranded I remain Affirm for me This waking life Show to me the fears To be swallowed To be nothing Pull me out Return me Validate me Assure me Rebuilding the real A place in time With meaning and warmth With meaning and worth
4.
Come back! From your travels return Your teeth are long, your roots are black Come back! Come back! Come back and see you are recalled Stretched thin as shadow Temporal as a name As your time to draw breath and see each day become the next …and on and on and on and on… Wherever you may choose to go Wherever you have gone It makes no difference short or long Return to me nonetheless Rest your head upon my breast A mantra toward entropy A lake of hot tar Blank hyperbole to obfuscate and forget who we are
5.
In an endless procession Stale and torn As will dims black Steady on to progress I, unfulfilled, remain Release upon me fortune Before it fades Regret expands And flows with disdain Torment overflows Purpose denied
6.
Many are the ways With broken stones paved Many as the days Walled with broken brick Persist o faithful one Thy endeavors be undone Varlet! How tragic that you speak in tongues Wander in whatever way Amidst the renewed maze Grey is a short road to this place Where every stone will crack and break
7.
In a fake world Lie in triviality Unaffected Unaware Ignorance is the end Existence will cease To the callous Taken by the glow Fall into decay Actions curb disregard Scorn overwhelming Trapped by mankind Thrive on misery Salivate in pain And the voyeur Is made whole

about

"The whole album fires like a bullet through fleshy passages of melody, through tough sinewy dissonance, into the dark clots of traditional black metal, and back out again, each layer of sound works pleasantly as a single, breathing whole. Despite listening again and again, trying to find fault in the erratic threads of sound, I still find satisfaction in the over-indulgence... What’s most impressive is the ability Anicon have to reconcile passion and emotion with technical wizardry. Part of their flair and charm comes from the relentless need to sound, sometimes, like they’re improvising off-the-cuff. But, there’s a certain level of restraint here that makes Entropy Mantra an album that I know I’ll be revisiting a lot."
—Angry Metal Guy

"Anicon’s music always has been challenging and thought provoking, even at their most vicious, with “Entropy Mantra” being another huge step in the direction of being one of black metal’s most intelligent acts...This album represents a dark, shadowy creature that’s real and can eat away at your very soul."
—Meat Mead Metal
